Reports say Maduro was seized in a Jan 3 operation and flown to New York, and Trump promptly said the U.S. would "run" Venezuela. That is an extraordinary claim of trusteeship with no Venezuelan consent. If Washington wants this to be more than brute force, it should publish the mandate, the limits, and the exit date, then accept outside monitoring. Otherwise it will look like a military solution hunting for a moral excuse.
