The counterargument is that leadership targeting is reckless, that the UN Security Council exists, that this will inflame the region and spike oil through the Strait of Hormuz. Yes, and still, the status quo was a slow-motion crisis with missiles multiplying and diplomacy looping. If Washington can justify this under War Powers and sell it at home, then Tehran will also justify retaliation, and the rest of us must stop pretending we are spectators. The real question for India is not whether we clap or condemn. It is whether we have fuel buffers, shipping insurance plans, and a clear message to both sides about red lines. Moral purity does not keep tankers moving. You may hate that sentence, but check your own electricity bill when the Gulf is on edge.
