When a machine made song can climb the same ladder as a woman who spent years gigging and hustling, the rules of that ladder must be examined. If AI is to stand beside human performers on charts and playlists, then women and other underrepresented musicians should be at the table when the terms are written, not invited afterward to clap for the marvel. There is nothing inherently unjust about a new tool, but there is great injustice in allowing it to deepen the same old exclusions while we marvel at its novelty. Equality in this new music economy will not arrive by accident; it must be negotiated, recorded, and enforced.
