14 out of 20 Premier League clubs voted to adopt a "Squad Cost Ratio" system, limiting player wages and transfers to 85% of revenue.

When one club gambles itself into a black hole, it is the supporters and the town that get left in the rubble. Any rule that stops wages and fees swallowing more than 85 percent of real income is a small step toward protecting them, not pampering players. It is not revolutionary, it is simply what a sane health service for football finances would look like.
